’ROBOTS‘    Since 5 years Mirjam has cooperated with artist/inventor Fred Abels,     naming them selves Electric Circus. Their teamwork has led to an     unique way of street theatre. With use of modern techniques like     animatronics they create truly lifelike creatures. Animals and also     a human being! These robot-puppets are so alive that they really became     a part of the family of Fred and Mirjam. |

DIRKDirk is the first free moving robot that is often mistaken for a genuine human being, for the audience it is an interesting encounter that often ends in a startling revelation. Dirk is a life-size tramp. He strolls through the streets pushing his rattling shopping trolley. He has already had many human adventures in his relatively short life. People use him as a companion to confide in, accompany him for a while or give him a spare coin.He even got arrested in a German shopping centre! However, most of the time you’ll find Dirk surrounded by a curious audience while he entertains them with the music of his hundred-year old organ. |
MONO       Mono, a little stubborn circus monkey, is the latest creation        of Electric Circus. Mono looks extremely convincing, some        audience members express their shock & horror convinced        ‘a real ’ monkey is being used.Mono can ride his bike,        play the organ, he screeches and squeaks, makes everybody        laugh and gives some people a fright and some even burst out        in tears. Mono can get you to do anything for him when he        looks you in the eyes, but be aware he is a cheeky monkey! |
